Peace Arch border incident today

Two American murder suspects attempted to elude police and jump the border into Canada in a frightful high-speed chase today at Peace Arch. See stories at Seattle's KOMO4 TV and KING5 TV including video. Whatcom County Sheriff's deputies stopped the fugitives' vehicle four feet from the Canadian border!

Do you think the unarmed Canada Border Services Agency officers are worried about what might have happened if these fugitives had eluded the American police and arrived on their doorstep?

GG Michaëlle Jean's big mouth

Gov. Gen. Michaëlle Jean's recent disparaging remarks criticizing Parti Québécois leadership candidate André Boisclair demonstrate poor judgment in handling her position. Mme. Jean is supposed to function as Queen Elizabeth II's ceremonial head of state in Canada, and not muck about in partisan politics or personality attacks. Her smart-aleck remarks aoubt M. Boisclair and about the PQ separatists are simply adding fuel to the fires of separatist rage.
